A Call to Arms... A Plea from Your
Brother Fernandez Dear Brothers of Alpha Xi, I have been gone a long time, over ten years to be exact. Many of you know me or know of me, but for those who don’t, ask around and you will hear stories both good and bad. Today it is not about me, but what I have come back to: a house that seems on its last legs and it hurts beyond measure. When is the last time you went to the house? Do you remember what it is like to walk thru the pool room or the memories of having a brother at the piano and singing the sweetheart song? I hear stories of the smell of stale beer as soon as you walk in the door. I want the current brothers to know the pride that I felt when people came to my house and know that sharing hard work with your fellow brother was the real secret we shared with our pledges. Even after graduating, I used to go to the house and help out when I could. I will never be able to repay the house for the lessons I learned. What lessons did you learn? What memories are thanks to your experiences with your fellow brothers and our house? I come back finding that our Alumni do not have time to find out what is going on the house and that we are to busy to show the current brothers how to rush or what it is like to put on a show that would make every person at the school know who we are… This is my call to arms, my fellow brothers, from a brother who never got to hold a position within the house but still loves her more than words can possibly describe. I am praying that you will remember the promise we made to our fellow brothers that when the call was made, that we would rush to the defense of our own. I am asking you to contact every brother you know and have them turn in their in their contact information, I am asking you to come to the smoker and see how badly the house is hurting and see how our current brothers have not had the pleasure of pride thru shared hard work. I am also challenging you to do more for our brotherhood, and in return, I will do the same. I plan on taking vacation during rush and I am putting my money were my mouth is. I plan to stand beside my current brothers and show them I care. If not for them, then for the continued future of the house and all the precious memories the house holds for me. What will you do when you hear the Alpha Xi call to arms? YWTMC, Eli Fernandez Fernelias2008@yahoo.com 312-351-4311 |
